Backyard this morning
Today has been blessedly cool and non humid so we got the majority of the clean up work done.

We have dragged all of the big fallen live oak branches through the squishy yard to the front, cut the major parts off into firewood and piled the remainder into two 25 foot long 6 foot high piles on either side of the sidewalk in front of the house. We have picked up all of the shingles, bits of shingles, fence slats and trash and bagged them for pickup. I have gathered up all of the smaller fallen dead wood, branches and twigs too large for the lawnmower to handle and we now have a 6 foot square brush pile, small critter haven against the trunk of one of the live oaks. Fallen leaves and debris have been removed from the patios, walkways, sidewalks and driveway and bagged for pick up. We have enough live oak firewood to get us through several Houston winters of occasional fires in the fire place so we are in pretty good shape.
Supposedly, the weather is going to stay relatively cool and not so humid for the rest of the week so since the gym is closed for the interim, I am looking forward to getting on the bike and doing a bit of riding, being cautious of debris in the roads and flashing traffic lights. Tomorrow I will have to hit a grocery store and do a bit of fresh produce restock if possible but we are still ok for food thanks to the freezer and not losing power .
All in all we feel extremely lucky.
