The wind has been persistent and the threat of rain ever present all of this week, so each day when I have finished my training rides or gym workout, I have been doing some serious weaving time to relax and celebrate being out of the weather.
Our Maine Coon cat Tux has decided that this activity requires close catterly supervision and has taken to installing himself nearby. At first he was inserting himself beneath the table loom, which you can see on the left, but he soon tired of being squished by the batten as I beat in the rows. He then moved to the box of wool and thread, very soft and cozy for a kitty, but he got tired of me burrowing under him to reach balls of gray, and I got tired of picking his fuzz out of the gray threads in the weaving. I tipped the box on its side to discourage him from sleeping there.
Not to be easily thwarted, he climbed up on the shelf on the former computer desk which is my work table, and carefully inserting himself under the three divider bars, joyfully took up residence on top of the threads. This is his new place to be, and every time I go in to weave, he jumps up, reinserts himself and proceeds to supervise with loud purrs. Of course, since he is on top of a lot of the threads I use frequently, I am forced to pat him in order to reach under him and retrieve the thread I need. It which just goes to prove that he knows how to pick his spots.
No pulling the wool over this weaver cats' eyes.
