life is good

marni and the cheese

Things I am liking about today.

I had a good ride with the ladies group this morning-with three of the 7 of us breaking out to do 2 mile speed bursts at 20 mph against the wind, and I managed to stay right on the wheel of the leader and might have even have had enough left in the legs to maintain a lead for a quarter of a mile or so.

Marie and I went to REI and I was able to use a $35.00 discount on a $55.00 dollar sleeveless jersey in lime green so now I can ride hot in green.

Afterwards we went to Whole Foods and I found this sheep milk cheese called "lamb chopper" cheese, with an appropriate graphic of a lamb riding a chopper type motorbike. The cheese is a firm medium aged type cheese and is delicious.

Yes, the weather is sucky hot, but at least with the wind, the humidity is staying fairly low. Whether I want to or not I am discovering the joys and strengths that come from riding against wind resistance in a hard gear and still working on cadence. Best of all after doing that for 40 miles yesterday and 23 today, I can still walk.

Life is good
