it's baaack.............

After a few days respite from the heat and humidity, the humidity is back and the heat is creeping up againl It's actually been very pleasant to ride for about a week. The night time temperatures have been dropping down into the low '70's with daytime temps in the mid 80's. Riding out in the mornings, the air has felt almost cool on the arms. Not cool enough to require arm warmers but cool and comfortable for sure.

On my ride Tuesday I finally began to see some payback on the spin class I have been taking, along with concentrated speed intervals on the recumbent bike. I did a nice 58 mile ride with an average speed of 16.8 in spite of traffic lights and stop signs. I have been trying for a long time to break through the 16 mph over a long distance so I guess this would be considered a personal best. I don't think I will celebrate it though until I can repeat the performance. It was actually not exhausting, I could have ridden more, but I was glad to stop as well.

This afternoon was the first of a series of days predicted to be in the mid 90's with afternoon thunderstorms and night time temperatures in the mid 80's. During the day the humidity jumped 33 percent. I somehow knew the better riding conditions were too good to last, but ......

Today's pithy sign is not so pithy but at leastg is an interesting play on words.

"Give God your pieces and He will give you His peace."

I still like "Eve was framed" better.
